About Idaho

The state of Idaho isn’t commonly associated with great places to live, but recently, the people at USA Today highlighted a story that called out one Treasure Valley city as the best place to live in the United States. For the whole article:

Gone are the days of Idaho being only a potato state, gone are the days of people assuming that all people from Idaho work on farms, and now we have the days of recognition and the growing popularity of this great state. You may be asking yourself, however, what city it was that received that coveted title. Well, it was none other than Boise’s twin city, and the third largest city in the state, Meridian. It came in first next to cities in amazing places like Colorado and Connecticut.

Aside from the aforementioned amenities, Idaho is also a great place for people who want to go camping, fishing, climbing, and so on, as well as people who are fond of photography, animal watching, and art. The dynamic mixture of Idaho’s deserts, mountains, forests, and water features make it a paradise for those who love the great outdoors.

In reference to the rest of the state, Boise, and the Treasure Valley is located in the southwestern corner of Idaho. It is around one hundred and fifty miles from the northern border of Nevada and fifty miles from Oregon. At first glance, the Treasure Valley may look a bit deserted, but in reality, from the Treasure Valley, it is actually very easy to reach other big cities in the West. Both Salt Lake City and the Tri-Cities area are only four to five hours away by car; Portland is about six hours by car and Seattle is only seven which makes it easy to enjoy any of the great West and Northwestern cities. However, if you plan to go to destinations like Las Vegas, New York, or Los Angeles, then you might be better off taking a plane from the Boise airport that can connect you to the rest of the world.
