The Treasure Valley (Boise-Nampa Area) is full of worthwhile places to live. Between Boise and Meridian alone there are hundreds of amazing communities, but, some of the best neighborhoods can only be found in the City of Nampa. One of these neighborhoods in Nampa is quite different from all the rest and can truly take the cake when it comes to suburban paradise. What is this neighborhood you may ask; well, it is none other than the Southshore Subdivision. This timeless subdivision is located in southwestern Nampa along the shore of Lake Lowell. It is made up of a few dozen building lots and a few dozen more pre-existing homes. These homes are one and two story homes that are designed after the traditional ranch style. They have an approximate average of 4 bedrooms a piece with 2½ bathrooms as well. Inside these homes, you will find that they are about 2,500 or so square feet in size (on average) which allows for easy entertaining and indoor projects or hobbies. These homes are built on an average of 1.2+ acres (estimated) with both fenced and unfenced backyards. Their fronts are made of elegant siding, stone, and stucco in some parts and can come in a wide range of color schemes.

One of the most prominent amenities that is available to the residents of Southshore would have to be the quick and easy access to Lake Lowell and the Deer Flat National Wildlife Preserve. This man made lake is one that provides hours of enjoyment to hundreds of visitors every year. It is perfect for boating, swimming, picnicking, sightseeing, and so on. The surrounding forest and beaches are always fun to visit as it is quite common to see animals of every kind coming down to the water for a drink. Visitors must be advised, however, to use caution around animals and the water to prevent injury or harm.

Within a few miles is Nampa proper where there are plenty of citywide amenities that residents can enjoy. There are restaurants to enjoy, shopping for their convenience, and even a movie theater. Not to mention, they are only about a 30 to 40-minute drive from Boise and Meridian where they can enjoy even more urban amenities. The downtown Boise area is a popular place for people to spend their evenings due to its large collection of restaurants, bars and clubs, and shopping centers. It is the largest downtown area in the state and is a gathering place for many different kinds of people.

Out of all the metropolitan areas in the Northwest, the Treasure Valley is one of the most underrated. It is home to 6 of the state’s most popular cities and several hundreds of thousands of people. Not to mention the thousands of industries that provide a wide variety of jobs to residents of the Treasure Valley. These businesses range from cutting-edge technology development to farming and factory work (and everything in between). However, it is not just work that can be found in the Treasure Valley, there are also plenty of opportunities for education, investments, and fun.

The Treasure Valley is never a boring place. In the Treasure Valley, you can always find something to do that fits your interests. There are plays at the Shakespeare Festival, concerts for every style of music imaginable, and sports like football, hockey, and baseball. Oh, and the valley is also covered in hundreds of parks for the public’s enjoyment.

Eating in the Treasure Valley is another thing that you can look forward to. In the Boise area there are restaurants of all kinds and varieties from ethnic foods to delicacies and just about everything else you can imagine. If you want a dine-in experience, then you can find plenty of amazing quality restaurants that serve amazing gourmet burgers, fine delicacies, and much more. However, if you prefer to order your food for delivery, you can easily have a pizza, sandwich, spaghetti, ethnic food, or anything else for that matter on your doorstep in a matter of minutes.

However, food and fun aren’t the main things that draw people the-the Treasure Valley. Their main draw would be the housing market and relative safety of the area. In the Treasure Valley, there are many amazing opportunities for affordable new construction as well as competitively priced pre-existing homes. Not to mention, it has a lower than average crime rate compared to the rest of the nation.

Gone are the days of Idaho being only a potato state, gone are the days of people assuming that all people from Idaho work on farms, and now we have the days of recognition and the growing popularity of this great state. The dynamic mixture of Idaho’s deserts, mountains, forests, and water features make it a paradise for those who love the great outdoors.

In reference to the rest of the state, Boise, and the Treasure Valley is located in the southwestern corner of Idaho. It is around one hundred and fifty miles from the northern border of Nevada and fifty miles from Oregon. At first glance, the Treasure Valley may look a bit deserted, but in reality, from the Treasure Valley, it is actually very easy to reach other big cities in the West. Both Salt Lake City and the Tri-Cities area are only four to five hours away by car; Portland is about six hours by car and Seattle is only seven which makes it easy to enjoy any of the great West and Northwestern cities. However, if you plan to go to destinations like Las Vegas, New York, or Los Angeles, then you might be better off taking a plane from the Boise airport that can connect you to the rest of the world.
